Grow promotes the use of electronic signatures for both the establishment and ongoing administration of all SMSFs we administer.

There are situations where an electronic signature is not appropriate or will not be accepted, for example:

  • Bank account establishment applications;

  • Binding death benefit nominations;

  • Some forms that need to be sent to a third party;

  • Forms that require a witness.

How Grow will use your signature

We will only request your signature when:

  1. It's required by a third party; and

  2. You've completed identity certification.

You can decline to provide your signature to Grow and provide it to the relevant third party directly.

βœ… Documents we may apply your signature to:

  1. Bank application or ancillary documents required to open an account for your SMSF where you've instructed us to open the account on your behalf;

  2. Authority forms that enable us to download transaction and balance data into our SMSF accounting platform;

❌ We will never use your signature for the following:

  1. Signing your SMSF accounts;

  2. Signing any SMSF minutes or resolutions;

  3. Signing any other SMSF document required for the administration of your fund;

  4. Authorisation of SMSF tax returns or activity statements;

  5. Authorisation of transactions or transactional authority on any SMSF account;

Grow will not keep your signature on file as a separate image file or document, however, where we are required by law to retain a document that includes your signature, we will retain that document.

The policy should be read in conjunction with:
