Follow these instructions to provide Grow with a read-only API key for your SMSF account.
Please note a read-only API key does not provide Grow with the ability to transact on your account.
Swyftx Website Instructions
Login to Swyftx (https://trade.swyftx.com/login) and ensure you've switched to your SMSF sub-account.
Access your Account settings via your Profile and go to API Keys
https://trade.swyftx.com/profile/api
Click 'Create new key' and then click 'I understand'
Enter 'Grow SMSF' as the API key title and ensure 'Read only' is selected (this is the default option).
Click Continue
Enter your Swyftx password to create the API key.
Copy the API Key that is generated.
Login to the Grow Portal (https://portal.growsmsf.com.au/) and navigate to Integrations under the Profile menu.
Click "Add Credentials" select Swyftx and paste your API Key.
Click Add. Your Swyftx API credentials will be saved.
If you refresh the page, the Status should change to 'Valid' with a token expiry date showing (1 week).
Swyftx App Instructions
The process to create a new API key via the Swyftx app is very similar to via the website.
Navigate to Profile > API Keys to generate a new read-only API key for Grow.
How we use your Swyftx API key
Initially, the read-only API will be used to download transactional data on a daily basis including:
Deposits and withdrawals of fiat currency into your Swyftx cash wallet; and
Buy and Sell transactions of cryptocurrency.
These transactions will be obtained daily between 12am and 1pm and will collect any trades and transactions from the previous day. The transactions will be feed into our specialist SMSF accounting software, Class.
The Grow team will also have the ability to pull through historical transactions on the account where needed.
At this time, the the integration does not cover the transfer of crypto assets from Swyftx to external platforms or wallets. Transfers will still need to be manually reconciled by our team.
In addition, the API keys enable us to obtain reporting data directly from Swyftx, meaning come end of financial year, we should be able to generate the necessary transaction and holding reports required by the independent auditor.
Future Enhancements
Swyftx is our first integration of this type (that is no entirely dependent on our third-party accounting software provider). We don't expect it to be perfect and that improvements will be required as we connect more Swyftx accounts via API.
We plan to add similar integrations with other cryptocurrency platforms based on popularity within the Grow SMSF customer base.
This means Coinspot, Independent Reserve, Coinjar and Coinstash are likely to be added next.
